Today 3D effects are available for a large number of movies and computer games. So far, 3D effects have always required special glasses. Triaxes Vision offers next-generation solutions for glasses-free (auto-stereoscopic) 3D video content creation.
Depth is all you need
Current 3D technologies use 2 video channels (L&R) that is enough for glasses-type 3D.To get a realistic glasses-free 3D effect, films will have to be shot from up to 8 and more different positions, making next-generation content preparation complicated in terms of production and editing. Depth maps offer the solution to this problem by generating the number of channels required. With depth map technology, 3D output can be generated for both glasses and glasses-free equipment. Stereographers believe in the 2D+Depth format as it offers the potential to optimize the multi-view image in real time and post production tools.

The first of Triaxes product-line is DepthGate that converts 3D glasses (L&R stereo) video content into glasses-free 3D format (2D+Depth and N-View). The program automatically calculates depth information for both source Left and Right channels. DepthGate enables the user to control and customize processing settings individually at the scene level.

NetJet is application that captures two video streams, synchronizes them, converts the stereo-video into a glasses-free 3D format, and broadcasts glasses-free 3D via IP or DVB-ASI in real time. The program is ideal for live event production such as sporting events, conferences, music concerts and other live performances.
Additionally, Triaxes Vision provides the play off solution for the end-customer: Media Player is TV set-top box device for receiving, decoding and playing 3D video. The TV set-top box plays back 3D-video received over IP or DVB in MPEG-2, MPEG-4/AVC formats. Media Player is compatible with new Dimenco and other “Dimenco rendering core (2D+Depth)” auto-stereoscopic displays.
